This is the tightest labor market in 15 years and holiday staffing is going to be harder than ever. Here are a few ideas to get you started…
- Go after the great holiday employees you had last year. Get them to come back if you can and also ask them if they know of anyone else who may be interested.
- Go shopping for the employees you want at the stores you want them from. It is not about getting them to leave their present employer, it about seeing if they want extra hours/shifts.
- Build a referral bonus program for your present employees. Make it special and exciting — just for holiday help.
- Come up with a list of why great holiday help would want to work for you and post, publish, and share it. As they say in sales, sell the benefits not the features.
